During the month of June, Extremadura Avante and the Spain-Asean Business Association (Asempea) assessed future activities and business opportunities in an area that encompasses 650 million inhabitants in the seminar ‘How to do business in Southeast Asia’.
The general director of Extremadura Avante, Miguel Bernal, who attended the presentation of the day, assured that Asempea “is a great opportunity and tool for any Extremadura company that wants to get involved, thanks to the information and network of contacts that the association provides. in addition to offering the possibility of growth in exports and the generation of wealth.
He also expressed the intention to put into practice our strengths as a “community to promote agroindustrial activity, energy production, engineering, consulting, and the environment, as axes of collaboration with Southeast Asia.”
For his part, the representative of Asempea, Manuel Valdés, indicated that Extremadura can provide top-level agro-industrial and agricultural goods and products in that area. “The potential of Extremadura is high and we must promote its presence in Asia through business support.”

Dissemination of Localcir
Another international project in which Avante has recently participated has been the dissemination of the cross-border cooperation project Localcir, which promotes entrepreneurship and innovation of companies in the green and circular economy in the seventh edition of the International Recovery and Recovery Fair. Recycling (SRR), which took place in Madrid on June 14 and 16.
Avante had a stand located in pavilion number 6 of Ifema for the dissemination of the project, the activities and the results obtained, and also accompanied a group of Extremaduran companies that held meetings and professional meetings with other entities to support them in their process of access to the market and the commercialization of its products or services.
The objective of Localcir, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg VA Spain-Portugal program (Poctep), is to promote the green and circular economy by supporting initiatives aimed at the development of a more economic sector. sustainable that enhances the use of resources in the area and generates products with high added value.
The International Recovery and Recycling Fair (SRR) brought together in the same space the main drivers of the new circular economic model towards which Europe is moving, companies and social agents involved in research and innovation aimed at improving recycling systems. and increase the efficiency of industrial processes.
This fair is presented as an ideal setting to learn about the strength of the recycling industry and the new trends in waste recovery, as well as a great opportunity to do business and make the best environmental practices known to the market.
Through participation in SRR, Extremadura Avante wanted to establish contacts with professionals from recovery and recycling companies, industrial manufacturing and Public Administrations involved in the cycle of recovery, recycling and valorization of waste, opening the way to possible collaborations and learn about the latest trends and innovations in the city of Madrid, also coinciding with Genera (International Energy and Environment Fair), where Localcir was also unveiled.
